Welcome to my tutorial on SNES programming. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
! The M1TE, M8TE, and SPEZ apps have been updated, Dec 2022 ! They are much improved. See links below.
Why B+21 Cents? (and free samples)
I made some tools to help develop for the SNES. Click on “Releases” to find the exe file. They are .NET apps that can run on non-Windows computers with MONO.
SNES Mode 1 Tile Editor
SNES Modes 3/7 (8bpp) Tile Editor
SPEZ (SNES sprite editor)
(Super Nintendo. Super Famicom. SFC. Gamedev. SNESdev.)

Is it possible to extract sprites from Secret of Evermore?
No. None of my tools would be useful for modifying existing games. They are intended for generating new content for original games.
Probably could/should have done that meme using Mode 3, and then you could have used 256+ colours in the image. Nobody would have cared still, but, dang, the image could have looked pretty awesome: https://inceptionalnews.wordpress.com/2022/10/23/snes-mode-3-images-can-look-gorgeous/ 😉
Good point. It would look better in Mode 3. However, this is just a demonstration of my Mode 1 tool, to show that you can now import an image.
